The timeline card appears on the hive's Overview tab with the next check window scheduled.
Starts that offer themselves
- Log a swarm event and the app offers to start a watch on the hive that swarmed.
- Create a split (a new hive with a parent) and you are offered a watch on the new colony.
- Distribute queen cells from a graft batch and a checkbox starts watches on the production hives that received cells.
- Introduce a reared queen from the queen rearing module and the introduction can open a watch as a requeen.
- Ask Bee, the voice assistant, to "start a queen watch on hive 12" (Enterprise).
Tip
Requeening a whole yard? Select hives in My Hives and use the bulk action to start watches on all of them with the same trigger and queen source in one pass.
Note
Running a crew? Turn on Settings -> Alerts & reminders -> Queen Watch field jobs and every watch also creates one queen-management field job per required check window, so checks show up in the jobs hub and on Field Tech. Off by default for solo beekeepers.
